I've finally released my first cut at Amazon integration. This will hopefully be THE revenue stream. As always Book Mobile is free and ad-free. The search result screen now includes a button to open a web browser with the Amazon page for the current book. As part of this integration I now, for the first time, have some metrics about how much the application is being used. All of this is completely anonymous! The last thing I want is the responsibility keeping personal data safe from attack.
In the first 24 hours there have been 664 books successfully looked up. The sad part is that only 7 of them where clicked through to Amazon and non of those users bought anything. So far the only revenue is from last week when my wife used a beta version to buy me another Elmore Leonard paperback -- thanks honey!
This release included a large refactoring of the result screen where most of the error reports are occurring. Please update so I can fix any remaining issues! Better yet, if you are running Froyo you can look for that auto update checkbox on the market application update screen.

I'm a bit curious about why you're forced to logon to your google acc to use it, it makes me suspicious, since nothing in the description mentions this in the first place.
your right. The description is a bit light on the books.google.com tie-in. You have to login separate because I've been to busy doing other contracts to complete my update to integrate with the Android Authentication.
I have a Google account. I'm not going to steal yours. If I were doing something nefarious the other thousands of downloads would have ceased a long time ago.
Information is everything.
I finished my review on different apps.
And it wasn't really me being worried about you stealing my acc. It was just that it was unclear what it was there for. Shifty stuff you should always be careful with. ;) and since I was just installing apps on my first smart phone ever... well ;)
I do see potential in your app though.
I want to document a large library. Your app will be very helpful but I want to do more with the data. Is there a way to the data out of my Galaxy Tab?
The data won't be in your android device. It will be at books.google.com. From Google's website you can reorganize and export the information all you want. Please remember though, Book Mobile only displays the "Favorites" bookshelf/library. In fact, since the data is not in the device, you could elicit the help of friends and family, authenticate into Book Mobile using your account. Then all of you can scan books. They will be saved into your online book library. Then, from the home screen of Book Mobile don't forget to use the preference menu item to clear the cached user credentials so your friends and family aren't continually adding other books to your account.
Thank you for the great app. Anything I look to buy on Amazon will go though it first.
